Catholic Community Services housing programs focus on people, not on bricks and mortar. Staff members work one-on-one with homeless and low-income families struggling to find and retain a decent place to live.
Using a combination of government contract funding and generous community support, we offer:
- Housing Transitions: helping homeless individuals and families by providing rental assistance and one-on-one support for several months while they get on their feet. Not having to worry about where you are going to sleep every night frees up a tremendous amount of time and energy for finding and keeping a job and taking other steps to build family security.
- Homeless Prevention: assisting those who are already renting an apartment but who are at risk of eviction. Limited, short-term financial help making rent payments helps families avoid homelessness. It’s not just compassionate, it’s also a lot less expensive than trying to help a homeless family get established in a new apartment
- Housing Counseling: providing information and referral to homeless and low-income persons regarding rental housing options and rental assistance programs.
- Homeless Family Shelter: providing homeless families several days of temporary shelter in a local motel. This program is used when no other resources are available.
