Housing Scholarship
In this unique program, a rent subsidy is available to benefit participants who are engaged in vocational, educational, or other self-sufficiency activities. Attendance is monitored and each participant receives a credit of $5.65 toward his/her rent for each hour engaged in the self-sufficiency activity. Subsidy checks are made directly to participating landlords.
Housing Stablization
This program provides rent subsidies to low-income families, especially those who are homeless or have chronic eviction problems. Families work with a family support worker for an initial six-month period, with an opportunity to extend if necessary to get the family to a stable situation.
Open Doors
This program provides emergency assistance, primarily in the form of rent, to families in need. Family support workers work with families to determine root causes of their crisis and how to prevent future problems
Teen Parent Housing
The Teen Housing program is jointly operated by CCS, the Oregon Department of Human Services and the Human Services Commission, and is exclusively designed for parents receiving Temporary Assistance to Needy Families.
Participants are teen parents to 18 years old, who wish to earn a diploma or GED, and are at risk of homelessness. Family support workers meet with participants once a week to help them stay on track to meeting their goals. These young people frequently are at a high risk for domestic violence.
