Annual Donation Drives

All items donated to CCS are given away to those in need free of charge at our two walk-in Community Service Centers.

SOCKtober: make happy feet, one pair of socks at a time!

As our newest donation drive, SOCKtober has been wildly successful!  Many of us take items like socks for granted, but for those with little, simple items like socks are like gold.  Imagine living on the cold, wet streets and not having warm, dry socks to put on your feet.

Join us in collecting warm, clean socks throughout the month of October.  Donations can be dropped off at either center throughout the year or you can host a drive of your own to get YOUR community involved.  If your church, school, business or networking group is interested, contact Henry Houston, Outreach Coordinator, for your starter kit!

Christmas Giving Program: Be an Angel to a family in need!

Each year, caring community members sponsor families in our case managed programs. We have a unique way of identifying creative ways to help families with practical gifts to help them overcome current barriers. With this program and community support, each year more than 100 families are helped through this giving program. For more information, contact Henry Houston, Outreach Coordinator.

Winter Clothing DriveClean out those closets!

Started more than 10 years ago by two dedicated volunteers, CCS hosts this annual drive with support of more than 45 local churches, schools and businesses. This has become a great opportunity to clean out those closets and drawers after the holiday season, sharing your old items with families & individuals that truly need them. Donations of clothing can be dropped off any time of year and collections can be hosted any time of year! Let us know if you'd like to be an official collection site for donations.

Squeaky Clean Hygiene Drive: Help your neighbors stay squeaky clean!

O'Hara Catholic School students helped create this annual drive in 2011. They wanted a way to help their community and we needed toothbrushes! The rest, as they say, is history. Many low-income families struggle to pay for basic necessities like toothbrushes, diapers, deodorant, shampoo, toilet paper, laundry soap and other household items. We try to keep all these items, and more, on our shelves so that when people need them we are able to help.

You can help by donating any personal care or household items year-round, or by hosting a collection bin for the Squeaky Clean Hygiene Drive during the month of June.

For more information about hosting a collection bin for one of these drives or to share other ways you want to help, contact Henry Houston at 541-345-3628 ext. 316.  Henry is also the person to contact if your church, business or organization would like to sponsor an activity or event to help those in our community who are struggling to make ends meet.
