FAMILY SUPPORT AND CONNECTIONS (formerly
known as Community Safety Net)
Family Support and Connections, formerly Safety Net, is a collaborative
partnership of community agencies and schools, working together to reduce
child abuse and neglect in Lane County. Catholic
Community Services coordinates this collaborative program and serves
as fiscal agent.
Teams at nine sites, both rural
and local, meet monthly or weekly to "triage" families referred
by Child Welfare. The teams review referrals and determine a plan of action
for
serving the family. A Family support worker coordinates each site and
serves as a short term family advocate to identify needs and remove
possible barriers that may keep families from needed services.
